The Georgian interiors was named after King George I. It is considered to be a mix of several styles from France, Italy and other parts of Europe. Characterized by its attention to detail in furniture, and not necessarily a vibrancy in color, Georgian interiors feature a muted color scheme. Georgian architecture and interior design were partly a reaction to the Baroque era. Architects like Palladio and virtues like order, symmetry and proportion were esteemed. Rooms in Georgian interiors were harmonious, proportional and richly decorated.
